Meet Dr. Blake Sparks
Dr. Blake Sparks is a plastic surgeon with years of experience in delivering personalized care. Dr. Sparks offers a unique healthcare perspective as both a nurse and a physician and is committed to ensuring each patient’s experience is tailored to fit their needs.
Growing up in central Texas, as the daughter of two Dentists, she learned at a young age the hard work and dedication it takes to run a private practice. Seeing the impact her parents had on their patients, she too decided to pursue a career in the medical field.
She completed her undergraduate studies at West Texas A&M. In 2007, she graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing for her scholarly achievements, leadership, and service.
Serving as a nurse in the mission field and living in rural Kenya, she worked in the operating room and witnessed life changing procedures and discovered the true impact that surgeons have on patients’ lives. In hopes of having the same impact, she decided to further her education and continued to medical school. During this time, she also met and fell in love with her husband and moved to Kentucky, which she is proud to call home.
She attended University of Louisville School of Medicine where she graduated cum laude with distinction in research. During her time in medical school, she was selected by her peers for her compassionate patient care and leadership and was inducted to the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS). Additionally, she was inducted to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society for her scholarly accomplishments.
She completed her surgical training at the highly competitive integrated Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. During her six years of training, she learned from experts in the fields of body contouring, aesthetics, general and breast reconstruction. Not only did she learn from esteemed faculty plastic surgeons at UTMB, she also had the opportunity to train with plastic surgeons at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas and operated with world renowned reconstructive surgeons at MD Anderson as well as many leading aesthetic plastic surgeons in the Houston community. This helped hone her passion for aesthetic surgery and refine her cosmetic surgery techniques.
After completing residency, she and her husband returned home to Louisville. As a mother herself, Dr. Sparks is most interested in female breast and body rejuvenation (commonly known as a “mommy makeover”) to help women restore form and function to their bodies through the art of plastic surgery. Her keen eye for aesthetics and attention to detail are perfectly combined to ensure that she delivers beautiful results to meet each patient’s goals. Her sincere bedside manner, empathy, and genuine caring nature truly sets her apart.
In her free time, she enjoys swimming, yoga, and being outside enjoying Louisville. Most of all she loves spending time with her husband Benjamin, their children Rocco and Reece, and their dog Yogi.
