What is it?

Deka Dot laser is a fractionated CO2 laser that aids in resurfacing areas of the skin that are aged or sun damaged. It has the capability to completely resurface the skin or can be decreased in energy to be less aggressive (fractionated). It is a concentrated light of energy that penetrates through the epidermis (the top layer of the skin) and into the dermis (the layers beneath). The heat that is produced stimulates your body to produce collagen, creating renewed, smoother, tighter and brighter skin tissue.

Ideal Candidates

If you have deep wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, sunspots, under eye laxity, uneven skin tone and pigmentation, large pores, skin laxity, rough skin texture then Deka Dot laser may be the treatment of choice for you. If you have milder blemishes and do not need aggressiveness of the Deka Dot therapy, we may recommend the Sciton BBL Hero and Moxi. This device targets earlier signs of aging and sun damage with minimal downtime. It is frequently selected by patients who want to maintain their skin’s smoothness without undergoing more intensive treatments.

Recovery After Deka Dot Laser

Depending on the strength or depth that the laser used, will depend on your recovery time. We tell our patients that typically they can wear makeup by the tenth day following their procedure. Once the skin has completely healed, makeup may be worn. However, if the laser is used with less energy, then the recovery time will be decreased. The initial effects from the Deka Dot session are typically redness and/or swelling that do subside over that first ten days to two weeks. Full benefits, often continue to develop over the following two to three months.
