Following Breast Augmentation, scar tissue forms as a natural part of the healing process around the implants to create a “pocket”. Some patients acquire more scar tissue than others, causing the breast to become slightly harder to the touch. If this occurs, ultrasound therapy is available to help soften the scar tissue. We have found ultrasound to help, avoiding the need for any surgical intervention to release the capsular contracture or scar tissue which only occurs in less than 20% of patients nationwide.

For an ultrasound treatment, we apply ultrasound gel to a handheld transducer and massage the breasts for 5-10 minutes per breast. There is no downtime, no pain or discomfort during or following the procedure. Usually 4-5 treatments every other day is required to reach the ultimate results.
