At Joseph Banis Plastic Surgery, we have a variety of options when it comes to lasers. Laser treatments can be non-invasive fractionated to deeper fractionated to full ablative. Each treatment has its place and during your consultation we will assess your skin, your goals and help educate you on the best option for you.
Can I Benefit From Laser PRocedures?
Lasers are used to resurface areas of aged or damaged skin to improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sunspots, uneven skin tone and pigmentation, large pores, skin laxity and rough skin texture. During your consultation, we will assess your skin, discuss your goals and come up with a treatment plan that is tailored to your skin’s needs.
BBL Hero / Moxi
BBL Hero / Moxi is our least aggressive laser option. But don’t underestimate the results that this treatment can produce. It is a go to for our practice if you are wanting to improve pigmentation, redness including flush/rosacea, capillaries and texture. BBL or Broad Band Light stimulates your skin to regenerate and restore your skin’s youthful appearance. Hero means visible impressive results delivered in a fraction of the time, with enhanced comfort and downtime. Moxi is a fractionated portion of the treatment meaning that it is a non-ablative laser energy to revitalize the skin by correcting the initial signs of sun damage and aging, no matter the season or your skin type. The combination of both treatments is ideal as most patients can benefit from both. A series of three treatments, a month apart is recommended. During your consultation we will assess your skin and make sure that you are the ideal candidate.
Deka Dot Laser
Deka Dot Laser is among the strongest laser treatments available. It can be fractionated on a higher energy as needed to be ablative or less energy for less aggressive treatment. It uses a concentrated light energy to penetrate through the epidermis (the top layer) and into the dermis (the layers underneath). The heat generated by this process stimulates the body’s production of collagen, creating renewed, smoother, tighter, brighter skin. This means that, rather than removing the entire epidermis (like it is in an ablative setting) in the treatment area, we are creating microscopic columns in a honeycomb-like pattern. By leaving some dermal tissue intact between these columns, the body can heal itself much quicker.
What is the Recovery Period for Laser Treatments?
Depending on the energy and depth of the laser used, will depend on what your recovery and downtime will be. This can range from slight redness to a sunburn look, to healing skin taking up to ten days to re-epithelize. We will fully discuss expectations with you once we confirm which treatment is best for you to reach your goals.
How Much Do Laser Treatments Cost?
Laser procedures can vary widely in terms of brands and accompanying cosmetic techniques, affecting the cost. The price of your sessions will be discussed in more detail during your consultation.
