What’s In RHA®?
The term “RHA®” stands for “resilient hyaluronic acid.” The HA part of RHA® is a chemical already found in the body that absorbs water. Once injected below the skin, HA fillers consolidate nearby water molecules. This hydrating effect not only adds definition to these areas but also contributes to smoother skin free of age lines. What sets RHA® apart from other brands of HA fillers is its longer chemical chains, enabling even more powerful results that last longer, too.
Which RHA® Formula Is Right For Me?
These unique qualities make RHA® an excellent choice when dealing with facial features that move frequently. If approved for RHA® therapy, your provider may recommend one or more of these three options in the RHA® Collection:
- RHA Redensity™ – This is the thinnest RHA® formula, used on very fine lines such as those located on or just above the lips.
- RHA® 2 – The next thickest RHA compound is ideal for lip volumization or moderate facial folds like laugh lines.
- RHA® 3 – This denser variation is often applied in cases of significant folds and wrinkles.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss which treatment is right for you based on your goals, symptom severity, allergies, and other patient-specific factors. It’s also possible that our expert staff could recommend alternative procedures like biostimulatory fillers or facelift surgery.
What Happens During An RHA® Session?
Your RHA® session will begin with the treatment area(s) being cleansed and marked as needed. RHA® fillers already contain a small amount of lidocaine, but we may also apply a topical anesthetic if requested for your comfort. Next, a series of injections will be made as necessary to obtain your desired effect. The whole process typically takes less than an hour.
After Your Procedure
Most patients report minimal swelling or bruising that quickly subsides. No special recovery period is required; we simply ask that patients refrain from intense exercise for a day or two to allow the filler to settle.
The effects of RHA® fillers are usually noticeable almost immediately, becoming even more apparent after about two weeks. Your results will be temporary, giving you the opportunity to modulate the strength of your treatments during future visits.
How Much Are RHA® Injectables?
The price of your RHA® treatment plan will depend on which formulation(s) are used, the severity of your symptoms, and how many sessions you schedule. During your consultation, we will discuss the details of your care strategy, including cost.
