Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty creates an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer by removing excess fat and skin from the upper and lower abdomen - and in many cases restoring weakened or separated muscles. It is suited to patients who are in good physical condition, but who have large fat deposits or loose skin that doesn't respond to diet or exercise. It is particularly helpful for women who have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin through multiple pregnancies.

This operation is normally performed under general anesthesia and requires an overnight hospital stay. Swelling and bruising can be expected as well as a reasonable amount of down time, but patients usually feel ready to resume daily activities after 7-10 days.
