Following Breast Augmentation, scar tissue forms as a natural part of the healing process around the implants to create a “pocket”. Some patients acquire more scar tissue than others, causing the breast to become slightly harder to the touch. If this occurs, ultrasound therapy is available to help soften the scar tissue. We have found ultrasound to help, avoiding the need for any surgical intervention to release the capsular contracture or scar tissue which only occurs in less than 20% of patients nationwide.

For an ultrasound treatment, we apply ultrasound gel to a handheld transducer and massage the breasts for 5-10 minutes per breast. There is no downtime, no pain or discomfort during or following the procedure. Usually 4-5 treatments every other day is required to reach the ultimate results.

We are very proud to be the first medical practice in Kentucky to offer the cutting-edge technology of TouchMD. Many of you have had the opportunity to interact with this new system. For those of you who haven’t, or have just wondered, “What’s the deal with those huge, flat-screen monitors mounted in the exam rooms?”, we wanted to shed some light on things! TouchMD is a state-of-the-art system that is used to enhance our relationships with both new and existing patients. It allows patients to learn more about their upcoming procedure or medical condition using an easy to navigate touch-screen computer. Here are some of features available to you:

Topic videos about procedures and treatments

Before and After photos of OUR patients

Information about our Doctor and staff

Ways to inform us of your interest in other services offered by our practice

This has been an incredible teaching tool for new surgical patients, as it allows us to photograph them, and then use that information to better explain the changes their body will experience, as well as helping them form their expectations. We are also using it to discuss non-surgical approaches to care. The best part of the system is that each patient will receive a password which can be used to access all of their information from home! Gone are the days of going home and trying to remember what we discussed with you- with a few touches of your home pc keyboard, you can now readily access that information and even share it with your family members so they can be a part of your care. You can also explore information about other procedures as well.

The service and personal attention I received from Dr. Banis and his staff was exceptional. Dr. Banis listens to what you are saying and you know both your time and needs are valued. After having 3 children, I was unhappy with the state of my breasts. I went to Dr. Banis for a breast lift and augmentation and I am thrilled with the results! I look like I did in my 20′s! Thank you Dr. Banis for giving me my body back!

I have been a client of Dr. Banis and staff since I moved to Louisville, 4 yrs ago. I felt comfortable and right at home at the first appointment. Dr Banis and staff are obviously knowledgeable in their chosen fields. Most importantly they are knowledgeable about their clients. What I think and feel matters to them. I am not a number, I am a person who is made to feel like their only concern when I am there for a consult or a procedure. I am a mother of 3 with two little ones under 3. I often bring my youngest with me to appointments. He always gets loved on by everyone there, including Dr. Banis! I am an older mom, so to speak, and have had procedures to help me look and feel young again. One such procedure, improves the black bags and fine lines around your eyes. It is an injectable that goes in the mouth and can seems scary. I promise you, when it comes to something that detailed the person you want to complete the procedure is someone you trust. The entire staff put me at ease. I even had someone hold my hand! The procedure itself is an economic and quick way to improve your looks dramatically. Dr Banis has a skill for looking at the big picture, creating symmetry, etc. It amazes me that he can look at swollen tissue and know the outcome for that client. I also recently had an injectable in my lips. I have seen lots of folks who have obviously had lip injections(none of which are Dr. Banis clients), and did not want to look too over done. I was beyond pleased with my results. My lips looked awesome. Another procedure that is quick, economic and produces a great result. My thought is if you can get lips right, you can get anything right. It is one thing to have a large surface to work with, quite another to inject into a small area and create such a beautiful result. I was just as pleased with my eyes and cheek bones.

As many of you know, one of our newest and favorite treatments is the Melanage Peel. This is a great anti-aging peel, but is specifically formulated to target patients with unwanted sun-damage, hyperpigmentation and melasma. We are always skeptics at the actual results when we bring something new in to our practice. However, we have been THRILLED with what we are seeing! Though there is some downtime (redness and peeling), we have been able to offer clear skin to those who have never before had it! What we have learned through our experience is that is critical to continue using pigment suppressing and stimulating products to maintain the results, otherwise, some discoloration is likely to return. It’s always about maintenance, isn’t it? Re-treatment is recommended annually. Here is one of our patients just recently treated…WOW!

This clear gel has so many benefits, and I’m (Olga) glad that we added it to our skin care line! This gel is a hydrator, healer and protector! The two key ingredients are hyaluronic acid (the body’s natural hydrator that binds moisture to skin) and Vitamin B5 (helps with tissue repair). The Vitamin B5 has natural broad abilities to moisturize, soothe, heal, protect, and regenerate the skin.

I especially like that it’s oil-free and that my sensitive skin can tolerate it. This is all I need for a moisturizer, especially during Louisville’s humid summer days. It’s ideal for ALL skin types, from acne-prone to dry skin. Use it with your Vitamin C treatment and your daily moisturizer for maximum benefits. Your skin will look and feel supple and smooth.

Ok, let me just start off by saying that we are SO proud and excited for Dr. Banis! He has been selected to be the speaker for SkinCeuticals in the territory! SkinCeuticals is one of the largest skincare companies in the world, and are known for their innovative skincare products. This is a huge honor for Dr. Banis, and he will be spending several evenings over the next few months talking to fellow physicians about the importance of medical skin care. He had his first meeting last month in downtown Louisville, and it was extremely successful. This honor truly shows how respected Dr. Banis is in the plastic surgery/medical skin care world, and we could not be prouder that he is our own Dr. ‘B’.
