Reduction

Women with large breasts may experience more than dissatisfaction with body image, they can also feel physical pain and discomfort. Breast reduction removes excess breast tissue and skin to achieve a breast size more in proportion with a woman's body while alleviating physical conditions such as improper posture, pain in the back and neck, skin rashes, breathing problems and skeletal deformities which can impair a woman's ability to lead an active life.

The surgery is normally performed under general anesthesia and requires an overnight hospital stay. Swelling, bruising and some downtime is to be expected. Most patients experience minimal discomfort, but should plan to take it easy and avoid any heavy lifting for a number of weeks.
